Name: Neil A. Armstrong
Reason: Perhaps the greatest milestone (as distinguished from a gradual, less-focused development, e.g., the development of writing) in the history of mankind is man's first step on a heavenly body other than the Earth--and an Ohioan took that step. Furthermore, the statue of Armstrong in his space suit would certainly by the most noticed and the most remembered statue in Statuary Hall.

Name: Neil Alden Armstrong
Reason: I would like to nominate Neil Alden Armstrong to be considered by the NSCSC for the Capitol building statue. Neil is famous for being brave enough to be the first man to be the first man to walk on the moon. Neil Armstrong was selected by NASA to be a astronaut on March 16,1996.Armstrong and Dave Scott aboard Gemini 8 and conducted the first docking in space. In order to get to the moon it took a lot of hard work and courage. That is why I would like to nominate Neil Armstrong.

Name: Neil Alden Armstrong
Reason: I would like to nominate Neil A. Armstrong to be considered by the NSCSC for the Capitol Building statue because he took the first human step on the moon in world history. He loved to fly toy airplanes and build models of rockets and planes as a child. Neil got his pilot’s license before his driver’s license. So he joined the Air Force.
