Name: Zelma Watson George
Reason: Zelma George fulfills several of your theme categories. She had masters & doctoral degrees in sociology and was a scholar of Gospel Music. She starred on Broadway. She was a delegate to the United Nations appointed in 1960 and she was active in the civil rights movement. She also toured the world as a "good will ambassador". As an African American and a woman she would be a welcome addition to Statuary Hall.
