Name: Jesse Owens
Reason: I recomend Jesse Owens because he was the beginning of many things for african americans in sports. He was the first african american to be sponsered for something and defied hitler by winning many metals in the germany olympics. I think his perserverince shows the values of ohio, so the statue should be made of him.

Name: Jesse Owens
Reason: He wasn't born in Ohio, but he was pretty much raised there his whole childhood. He made it through one of the hardest times in the United States, he survived the racism. He broke three world records, which would be a very memorable thing to honor. I think because a lot of people can relate to athledics.
