Reason: She was the first chairman of the Republican National Committee, was at the head of the woman's suffrage movement in both Ohio and the nation, and was pivotal in getting women the right to vote. Ohio should be proud to claim her as a resident, and the legacy her name means for the rights of women nationally. It would be especially powerful for Ohio to recognize her as they increase the equality of representation in National Statuary Hall by honoring a woman with one of Ohio's statues.
